Introduction :

Data that has relevance for managerial decisions is accumulating at an incredible rate. Companies are overloaded with huge repositories of data with information and knowledge buried in it. Human analysts with no special tools can no longer make sense of enormous volumes of data that require processing in order to make effective business decisions. Managers must rapidly and thoroughly understand the factors driving their business by leveraging these data sources in order to sustain a competitive environment. Business analytics is a set of techniques and processes that can be used to derive business insight from raw data to support decision making. Business analytics enables organization to discover trends, predict and explore different scenarios in business and thus helps them to get new insight. This programme will expose the participants with popular business analytic tools and techniques and how to use them in practical situations for better decision making.

The basic objective of the programme is

  • To enable an understanding of different analytics techniques from the functional viewpoint.
  • To impart managerial perspective in various business domains such as credit rating, customer profiling and segmentation, database marketing and fraud detection.
  • To understand the role of big data in business decision making.
