AXIS - A Review of Operations Management

The quarterly newsletter of AXIOM is a much-awaited showcase of innovative practices and initiatives implemented in the field of operations and of the vanguard of research in operations by the academia. We at AXIOM believe in tracking the pulse of the industry. AXIS is the melting pot of the academia and the industry and is enriched by the contributions from both the industry experts and the researchers.

Experiential Learning

AXIOM intends to promote hands on learning through organizing visits to centers of operational excellence such as Tata Iron & Steel Company, Tata Motors, Tata Cummins etc. Planned visits to the industrial zones spread across India particularly in the western states are also in the pipeline.

Live Projects

AXIOM plans to seek problems in operations management from the industry and work at them to provide solutions that can be implemented real time. The committee shall also be working towards benchmarking the facilities provided by the college, and ensure the implementation of quality standards in the daily working routine of XLRI.

In lieu of implementing benchmarking, AXIOM is facilitating the first of its kind, ISO Certification for different XLRI facilities and events. As much as five different entities, ranging from the XLRI's infrastructure, Mess, MAXI Fair, Library and Ensemble shall be going through the ISO certification process.
