The XLRI School of Business and Human Resources is a premier management institute in India and was founded in 1949 in the Steel city of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Over the last few decades, XLRI Jamshedpur has contributed its best to the professional growth and management of innumerable institutions that serve the public, especially organized industry, labor, service agencies engaged in rural development, education, health and other public systems.
After successfully conducting a number of national/local events, XLRI Jamshedpur proudly prepares to host VALHALLA 2015, an inter-college sports cum cultural festival (national business school level) from 24th - 26th July 2015. The event is planned to take place over a period of three days at the XLRI Campus.
In its last edition, VALHALLA invited eight premier B-Schools like IIM Calcutta, IIM Ranchi, FMS Delhi, SIBM Pune, NMIMS Mumbai, XIMB Bhubaneswar and IIT Kharagpur. It is the flag ship event of the following "Extra - Curricular Committees" of XLRI Jamshedpur: -
The event will generate participation from the top B-schools of the country. We expect more than 1500 participants from all over the country that will battle it out for three days to emerge as champions.
Finale of VALHALLA 2015 - Fundraiser in association with "Milaap" and "Prince Dance Group"
At the end of the three-day event, we plan to organize a "fundraiser" through a musical concert, live performance etc. The proceeds of the fundraiser minus the organizing costs would be used for a social cause. Last year we raised 2.89 lakhs for "Ability Unlimited" via similar channel. The fundraiser will take place at the TATA Auditorium, which has a capacity of 1500 people and will feature the who's who of Jamshedpur region.
We, as a team, wish to associate with Milaap for the event and contribute to a social cause. Milaap not only provides us with the required credibility we would require for such a venture but also has the youthful exuberance that we relate to. We have been highly impressed by the "A handout is good, a hand-up is even better" philosophy at Milaap and we feel this would be a great way to provide a "hand-up" from our side.
A dance group of 26 wage workers that includes two physically challenged members that have achieved incredible success fighting through all odds. The theme of Valhalla 2015 is "Heroes" and this dance group is a real hero story that we want to portray in front of society. They have won hearts through their performances and we would want to help them in smallest way possible.
