Why should I choose General Management Programme? The General Management Programme at XLRI is the oldest One Year MBA Programmes to be offered in India. When GMP was conceived and introduced way back in 1997, a one year full time MBA program was unheard of in India. XLRI pioneered the General Management Programme (GMP) as a program for middle-level and senior level managers across sectors to hone their managerial experience & skills by providing a strong grounding on management theories. The participants are practicing managers with more than 900 years of cumulative experience in diverse functions and share the flair of excelling in every task they undertake. The teaching methodology for GMP is rigorous and well-rounded, blending business acumen in the fundamental courses with a wide range of electives. The one–year fully residential programme, has a healthy mix of classroom lectures and discussions, case based studies and projects imparting a broad outlook, enriching the participants and encouraging them to think beyond their limits and identify out-of-the-box solutions and challenge the status-quo. The program also includes a three week international immersion program where the students visit collaborating foreign universities – familiarize themselves with the business climate and industrial scenario of the host countries, and execute projects for different organizations there. This broadens their view about the way businesses operate internationally, transforming them into world class leaders. GMP offers a unique opportunity to develop a holistic understanding of various business functions, maximize peer to peer learning and leading edge in their areas of interest. The graduates not only carry with them the requisite functional knowledge, but are multi-faceted and complete individuals, well prepared and deployable from day one across organizational roles and divisions in the industry. |
