Seminars, Workshops and Guest Lectures

FINAX invites speakers from the industry to deliver seminars and conduct workshops. As a part of various finance courses, guest lectures are arranged to give the students flair of the latest trends in the industry along with the application of classroom teaching.

FINAX also acts as an interface between the industry, policy makers, regulators, academia (professors and students) by bringing them together on a common stage by conducting conferences and other events.

As a part of consultancy for the industry, FINAX also arranges for live projects from the industry. These are worked on by students of XLRI and paid for by various companies. These provide the students valuable practical experience and the companies also get benefited in return.

At FINAX we make a conscious effort at raising the finance knowledge of the students at XLRI. “Gyan sessions” are organized in accounting, finance and related topics whenever the students need them. We also arrange for discussions on topics of relevance.

We believe that FINAX should not only be about academic pursuits, but also the fun associated with it, and hence we organize different simulated games from the area of finance to raise the interest level of the students. We frequently organize games which stimulate the markets etc. Apart from this, FINAX also arranges for screenings of movies on financial events and subsequent discussions on the movies. Quizzes are also organized.

FINAX publishes a finance journal every year. The students, faculty and the alumni of XLRI write articles for this journal. This journal is sent across the leading companies in the financial domain. Articles from other Business Schools is under consideration.
