Programmes for NRI / Foreign Students

Eligibility:
For BM & HRM programmes, graduates who have completed three years of Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline by a recognized appropriate authorities / Association of Indian Universities are eligible to apply. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2012 may also apply.
For GMP, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline by a recognized appropriate authorities / Association of Indian Universities. He/She should be employed in a full-time job and must have at least five years of relevant managerial experience as on March 31, 2012 after completion of graduation.
Applicants for the Fellow Programme in management should have a Master's degree or its equivalent in any discipline with at least 55% aggregate marks or a BE/B. Tech degree with at least 60% aggregate marks.
Definition as per "Regulation for admission of NRI/Foreign Nationality/Person of Indian Origin", AICTE letter dated 24 April 2002 is as follows:
NRI :"NRI" in this context means Non-Resident Indian as defined in Income Tax Act, 1961 with the following clarifications:An individual is Non-Resident when he is "not a resident" or who is "not ordinarily resident". A person is treated as "not ordinarily resident" when any of the following conditions is satisfied:
- If he/she has not been resident in India in nine out of ten preceding years; or
- If he/she has not been in India for a period of 730 days or more during the preceding seven years.
Persons of Indian Origin :"Persons of Indian Origin" (PIO) in this context means a person having foreign citizenship (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) without "NRI" status, but who holds a Foreign Passport at the time of sending application, consideration for admission and during the period of his study and he/she or any one/ both of his/her parents or any one/ both of his /her grand parents is (or was) / are (or were) citizen (s) of India by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of India or Section 2 (b) of Citizenship Act, 1955 (Act No. 57 of !955).
Foreign National : "Foreign National" (FN) in this context means an individual having citizenship of a foreign country (citizens of all countries other than India) and not having the status of "NRI" and/or "Persons of Indian Origin" (PIO).

US $15,000 for the first year and US $17,500 for second year (The fee includes Admission Fee, Tuition Fee, Course Material, Library and other academic activities fee. The boarding expenses are an additional to the above) |

For GMP: |
Each participant in this programme will be charged approximately Rs. 14,00,000/- (or equivalent in $ US) for the academic year 2011 - 2012, plus service tax, if any, applicable from time to time. Food, electricity and other personal expenses would be charged extra depending on the type of accommodation preferred by the student. |
Application Procedure
Candidates can download the application form for Foreign/NRI Students from the link given above. The form is to be sent to the address given below along with a demand draft of US$ 50 ( for single programme) OR US$ 75 ( for more than one programme and at the most three) made in favour of " XLRI Jamshedpur A/c Prospectus " payable at Jamshedpur. The last date of receiving the application form by Admission Office, XLRI, Jamshedpur is 15 January 2012.
A candidate has the option of either taking XAT 2012 or submission of GMAT Scores. Those taking XAT need to register for XAT 2012, being held on January 08, 2012. The GMAT should be taken between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2011.
PLEASE NOTE: XLRI facilitates NRI applicants who would like to study in XLRI, by providing an option of applying via submitting GMAT score instead of XAT score. A NRI applicant may also apply to XLRI by giving XAT score. This facility should not be construed to mean that XLRI has reservations/ quota for NRI applicants.
