Till 2017, Ensemble used to refer to the management fest of XLRI and Valhalla referred to the cultural and sports events. However, in 2017, the two were merged to form a single fest encompassing management, cultural, and sports events. Generally, Ensemble-Valhalla is hosted in November in the first week of the month.
The dedication towards creating quality events that complement the traditional management learning provided has made Ensemble-Valhalla the biggest and most eagerly awaited fest in the B-school circle. While Ensemble celebrates business sense and logic, Valhalla promises to be a cultural extravaganza that salutes sportsmanship, creativity and passion. Through the various events and festivities, Ensemble-Valhalla hopes to challenge and sharpen the leadership skills of the participants.
The festival has seen a footfall of 10,000 participants from various educational institutions across the country. The management events are spread across different domains with the flagship events covering the areas of marketing, finance, human resources, consulting, and so on. The cultural events include a vibrant mix of colourful events such as dance, drama, fashion show, music, and so on. The sports events include a great variety of sports including cricket, football, tennis, carrom, chess, throwball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, and so on.
The festival has witnessed performances by artists like Amit Trivedi, Vipul Goyal, Shilpa Rao, The Local Train, Lucky Ali and Nucleya in the past.
Ensemble-Valhalla 2019 will be hosted from 1st-3rd November, 2019. The theme of the fest this year is 'Break Free', which represents the essence of people breaking free from the shackles and stereotypes to emerge victorious in different walks of life. The intent of the theme is to celebrate the spirt of innovation and success in the field of art, culture, business, and sports.
With an aggregate prize money of Rs 15 lakhs, and participation from more colleges than ever, the fest promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
