XLRI Collaborates with Institute for Advanced Studies in Complex Choices to Host the '2nd IASCC - XLRI Leadership Conclave'

31st October, 2019

The Two-Day Conclave to be held on November 19th - 20th, 2019 in Hyderabad

XLRI- Xavier School of Management collaborates with Institute for Advanced Studies in Complex Choices to host the '2nd IASCC - XLRI Leadership Conclave' on November 19th - 20th, 2019 at Novotel, HICC Complex in Hyderabad.

Based on the theme - 'The Growth Paradox: Resolution through Change in 'Frames for Choices', the Conclave aims to focus on resolving the current growth paradox through changes in frames for personal, organisational and public policy choices.

Elaborating about the theme of the Conclave, Prof. Anil K. Sood, Founder - IASCC said, "We see the current state of paradox to have resulted from our inability to identify the inflection points when a given set of premises and frames stopped being relevant to the context. That is, a market-based economic system founded on the principles of private enterprise; free movement of goods, people and capital; meritocracy, and; self-regulation, combined with a liberal democratic socio-political system has had only limited success. It has delivered economic well-being for some but not others. We now find ourselves at a stage where global growth has fallen sharply in the current year (2019) across all the major regions and is expected to recover only marginally during the next two years, and that too on the back of growth in relatively smaller economies, i.e., EMDEs like India, Indonesia, Russia, Mexico and Nigeria."

Talking about the Conclave, Dr. Pingali Venugopal, Coordinator, Centre for Global Management and Responsible Leadership at XLRI said, "The Conclave aims to be a platform for dialogue between research and practice. It would focus on building a shared perspective on issue of current interest and outline the agenda for future research in the area. XLRI has collaborated with IASCC Leadership Conclave as the Knowledge Partner."

Senior business and functional leaders across industry and academia participating in the conference would discuss on various topics like-

A. Economics and Finance:
